Atlantic Canada
Shaped by the sea that crashes the shores
Atlantic Canada is made up of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador. These are the smallest of Canada's provinces, but, as Canada is the second largest country in the world, this is not a small region.
Atlantic Canada's provinces can each be the size of many European countries. The region's distinct image comes from its seacoasts, comprised of peninsulas and islands and surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, which has resulted in its unique maritime traditions. Atlantic Canada settlements are quite old, by North American standards, as it was one of the first places on the continent to be explored by Europeans.
Adventure travel is exciting here. Sea kayaking, fishing, camping, canoeing and whale watching are all offered. The pace here is relaxed, and people are innately friendly and helpful, great for travelers seeking an exceptional adventure.
