Dogsledding in Canada
A true adventure in the true north
Dogsledding is a true Canadian adventure. Experience the thrill of this traditional Inuit mode of transportation as you drive your sled dog team through stunning winter landscapes. Helpful and experienced dogsledding guides will give basic instruction in handling and commanding a dog team.
Dogsledding adventures are offered in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Ontario. The season runs from November to April, depending on snow conditions.
Dogsledding trips vary depending on the location, but can be several hours to several days long. On longer trips, you will camp in heated tents or cabins along the trail. Many lodges and wilderness camps offer shorter experiences, where you can stay and take in other fabulous winter activities such as snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, ice fishing or igloo building.
Dogsledding is great for family vacations, and no experience is required. Snuggle into a cozy sled and enjoy the magical silence and clean air, hearing only the dogs' rhythmic breathing.
Dogsledding tours make for a fantastic vacation adventure. Grab your parka and prepare to 'mush!'
